How we set the regime
Filter and belt intervals are set against the environment, not a flat annual template. A kitchen make-up unit or a city-centre intake loads filters far faster than an office AHU on a clean elevation, so we record pressure drop across the filter bank and change on evidence rather than on the calendar.
Belts get checked for tension, alignment and glazing, bearings for noise and play, and fan wheels for imbalance and build-up. A dirty impeller loses airflow long before anyone reports a problem, and it usually shows up as a warm floor or a kitchen that will not clear rather than as a ventilation fault.
On extract systems we look at grille and canopy condition, make-up air balance, fire damper accessibility and whether the fan is still achieving anything like design airflow. Where a system needs specialist duct cleaning we say so and set out what is involved rather than quietly signing it off.
